From March 30 to April 2 of the current year, the Training Center of the “Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise” SNCO organized a training course on “Mine Risk Education” for 22 volunteers of the Armenian Red Cross Society.
Specialists of CHDE SNCO trained Armenian Red Cross Society volunteers from the Syunik, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, and Tavush regions, as well as Yerevan, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify mines and explosive remnants of war, raise awareness of related risks, and reduce those risks. Practical exercises were also conducted on the topics of “Development of MRE Materials” and “Delivery of MRE Sessions.” The training course was conducted in accordance with international and national mine action standards.
Volunteers who completed the training were awarded certificates and, over the course of one year, will conduct training sessions in mine- and explosive ordnance-contaminated regions of the Republic of Armenia, with the aim of raising community awareness and promoting safe behavior.
