The National Mine Action Authority, the state non-commercial organization “Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise” (“CHDE” SNCO), implements, regulates, manages and coordinates mine action in the Republic of Armenia.
Mine action is a set of activities aimed at reducing the social, economic and environmental hazardous impact of mines and explosive remnants of war (ERW) on people and society, to reduce the risks of mines and ERW to a minimum level that will enable people to live in safe conditions.
According to international and national standards, mine action consists of the following components:
“CHDE” SNCO has a training center where specialists receive professional education in mine action, are qualified and trained. At "CHDE" training center, trainings for Explosive Ordnance Risk Education trainers are also organized. Upon successful completion of trainings, participants are awarded with certificates of EORE trainers.
The “Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise” SNCO cooperates with accredited diplomatic representations in RA, various international organizations, signs contracts, and Memorandums of Understanding.
