A Memorandum of understanding on humanitarian mine action activities has been signed between Armenia and France

On June 11, Director of the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Vaginak Sargsyan and Bernard Jannin, President of the Association for the Safety of People, Property and the Environment  Department of French Republic, signed a memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the humanitarian mine action field.
Head of MoD Apparatus Administrative Department Levon Khachatryan, representatives of the French Embassy in Armenia, and the staff of CHDE attended the ceremony.  
Director of "CHDE" Vaginak Sargsyan highly appreciated the establishment of cooperation between Armenia and France in the field of humanitarian mine action activities. 
-We emphasize the importance of the need to share experience and implement partnership programs that will serve the ultimate goal of the humanitarian sphere, that is, create an opportunity for people to live more safe and free.
Mr. Khachatryan noted: "The memorandum of understanding is not binding, it depends on the initiatives of the parties, however, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise will do everything possible so that it does not remain on paper”.
In his speech, the president of the Association for the Safety of People, Property and the Environment Department of French Republic Bernard Jannin, also stressed the importance of cooperation with CHDE in the humanitarian mine action field.
After signing the Memorandum of Understanding, Mr. Bernard Jannin demonstrated the french experience and new approaches in mine action field through a video presentation.
