The opening ceremony of the new office of National Mine Action Authority “Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise” SNCO took place. In the frame of the project “Strengthening National Mine Action Capacities in Armenia” implemented by UN Development Programme (UNDP), funded by European Union, the “CHDE” SNCO renovated the new office, furnished and equipped with new equipment and other necessary means.
Higher representatives from European Union, UN Development Programme, UN World Food Programme (WFP) and representatives from US and Chinese embassies attended the opening ceremony.
During the event “CHDE” SNCO director Vaghinak Sargsyan awarded UNDP resident representative Natia Natsvlishvili, UN WFP director Nanna Skau, as well as defense attache of Chinese embassy to the RA An Qiang with a medal of humanitarian cooperation.
Representatives from local and international organizations were awarded with special certificates of appreciation for cooperation in mine action and dedicated work.
The attendees addressed congratulatory speeches to “CHDE” staff and express their readiness for the future cooperation development.
During the event, the guests were shown the activities implemented in 2024 through a clip afterward they had a tour in the “CHDE” office.
