The Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise, in cooperation with the administration of the Governor of the Vayots Dzor region, held outdoor events in the city of Yeghegnadzor on April 4 dedicated to the International Day of Mine Awareness and Mine Action Support.
During the event, the specialists of the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise, wearing appropriate protective equipment, demonstrated humanitarian demining operations using mine detectors and special tools. Explosive ordnance risk education specialists (EORE) have informed residents about safe behavior. An exhibition entitled "Our House without Mines" was also organized, the purpose of which was to promote public awareness through art.
At the exhibition were presented scenes painted by children living in regions of Armenia contaminated by mines and explosive ordnance. With the help of these drawings, children tried to demonstrate their ideas about mines, the dangers arising from mines, as well as compliance with the rules of safe behavior.
With the support of Vayots Dzor Governor’s staff, the event was accompanied by a special concert of local talented children.
